A True Triumph Erika’s book is brilliantly written and pulls the reader right in from the beginning. I couldn’t put it down once I started. It’s amazing to see how she conquered all the obstacles that were put in front of her throughout her life and how she triumphed over then! I read it in 2 days and highlighted all the lessons so i can go back and remind myself that women are resilient no matter the challenges we face . We can overcome. I read it in just a few hours!The significant challenges Erika Obando overcame, as a child to immigrants, from her journey to America TWICE! — to the physical abuse that led her to run away from home at a young age. These experiences eventually enabled Erika to fight for her life, even with limited guidance. She always seemed to figure out what she needed to do when things got really tough, even at such a young age which is remarkable. She had the ability to keep moving forward when all else had fallen apart.What I love most is the beautiful role model Erika has become for other women after all she endured. She never gave up on herself.Although her story is heart-wrenching, You walk away feeling inspired and hopeful that if you too believe in your dreams and in yourself when no one else does and you keep going when hope is lost - the healing that comes out on the other side is transformational.She did not let the pain of her past become her story. She chose differently. She faced her fears and challenges and believed in herself. She chased her dreams, put herself through college, raised an amazing son, learned how to love and be loved after abuse and is living a joyful life!I highly recommend this book!
